Today, New York-based DJ and producer Lorant is releasing the music video for his cosmic house music thumper FRIENDS. The track was inspired by the magical bond between friends when they start dancing together on a night out.
“Our friends are the ribbons of light that get us excited. Our friends are music,” – Lorant.
For the video, Lorant recruited dancer Robert Mason – a recent Juilliard graduate who took part in interdisciplinary artist Rashaad Newsom’s multi-experimental work titled Assembly at the Park Avenue Armory earlier this year.
Royal Advisor Records (RAR) in 2010 as a means to provide an open space for queer artists and allies to develop fresh, original work to express their unique visions. Celebrating community through the liberating power of dance music, RAR prides itself on its innovative collaborations with a diverse group of artists such as NYT favorite The Illustrious Blacks, rapper Will Sheridan, and Drag Race guest and RuPaul collaborator AB Soto. With this latest release, Lorant continues his streak of mixing music with top quality visual storytelling.
