Hello Kintar, great to have you with us today. How are things with you and whereabouts are you based right now?
Hey guys thanks for having me, it’s a busy summer for me and I couldn’t be happier with the way things are going for me at present. Ibiza is my permanent base, even more so in the summer months. I’m hosting Summerians at Blue Marlin Ibiza every Friday and touring globally during weekends, with upcoming gigs at Sardinia, Bali, Mykonos, Baku, Sorrento, to name a few cities.
It’s a great year for Ibiza with the first proper season since the pandemic, how is your residency at Blue Marlin Ibiza going?
The pandemic helped give me the time to create my own event brand “Summerians” and it’s going great! We launched last summer at Blue Marlin Ibiza and it was one of the only events on the island whilst everything else was closed. Blue Marlin is the perfect environment and since then it’s become a weekly every Friday ritual. We are so proud of what we’ve created, the parties have been amazing and we appreciate the support of such an international audience who follow our journey.
We’re pleased to be chatting with you ahead of your next release on your label Sudam, what can you tell us about “Uthando Lungihlulile”?
It’s a track for real music lovers, for a special moment in a set. I’m personally so in love with this. It was released 8th July exclusively on Beatport and on all download stores from 29th July.
How did you first discover the original track and what was it that inspired you to remix it?
I got the original track as a promo, and immediately thought ‘I need to add my touch on it’. So I gave a dance inspired approach in my customary style to add to the original musical masterpiece.
Have you had a chance to play this one out yet?
First time I played it was in Tulum, and the crowd reaction was as if they already knew the song, which is always a good sign! Everytime I play it, I feel goosebumps and to see the crowd reacting to it is always a special moment.
We’d love to hear more about your Summerians series, is there anything in the pipeline at the moment?
Summerians is growing so quickly! We have a world tour scheduled once the Ibiza season is over, with events in Bali at Savaya and Porto Cervo in Italy at Phi Beach. We will no doubt be back in Tulum over the winter. 2023 looks promising with some additional projects we are working on and our aim is to bring the event to all continents of the world.
It’s been a strong year for your label Sudam Recordings with releases from yourself, Paul Mibely, Darksidevinyl and more. What’s next for the label following ‘Uthando Lungihlulile’?
Yes, it has been! We have 10 new releases ready to go, Including gems from Pantelis Aspridis, Parsifal, Noah Leon, Medusa Odyssey with Iban Mendoza, Jamek Ortega, Reuxen, Anorre, Delum, Breetz and more. Plus more of my own music of course.
Thank you for chatting with us today Kintar! Wishing you all the best for the remainder of the Ibiza season and hope to catch up again soon. To finish off, is there anything else upcoming that you’d like to share with us?
Was a pleasure guys and I hope you can come to Summerians this summer!
Peace out..
