Thanks for joining us today HYPNOZA and congratulations on your new single ‘Fantasy’! What was the most unexpected challenge you faced while creating the track?
Thank you! I’m really excited about Fantasy and grateful for all the support. Honestly, the process flowed pretty smoothly overall, but if I had to pinpoint a challenge, it was making sure that both artists were fully happy with the final product. I must have sent the track back and forth with ALDOR at least six times—we were both really invested in getting it just right. It was important to us that the track reflected both of our visions, and in the end, that back-and-forth made the song even stronger.

If you had to describe ‘Fantasy’ using only three words, what would they be?
If I had to describe Fantasy in just three words, I’d say: ethereal, evocative, and melodic. It’s a track that invites you into a deep, emotional space while still keeping that hypnotic, driving energy that defines my sound.

How do you think your sound stands out in the ever-growing Melodic House & Techno scene?
I think what makes my sound stand out in the melodic house & techno scene is the emotional depth I bring to every track. I approach music from both an artistic and psychological perspective—my goal is always to make people feel something real. I blend cinematic melodies with driving grooves, but there’s always a story or emotion behind it.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received from another artist in the industry?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received from another artist is to enjoy the journey, not just the end result. I have big goals for my future, of course—but if I only focused on the destination, I’d miss all the beautiful moments that happen along the way.

Do you have any pre-show rituals or routines before you step behind the decks?
Honestly, I still get really nervous before every show—because I care so much and want everything to be perfect. To center myself, I usually do some deep breathing exercises and take a few quiet moments to meditate and focus on making the transitions as smooth and powerful as possible.

If you weren’t making music, what do you think you’d be doing instead?
There’s honestly no world I can imagine where I’m not making music—it feels like what I was truly meant to do in life, even though I discovered it a bit later. Music is such a core part of who I am now. That said, I’m still a practicing psychiatrist, and I love that work, too. So if someone told me I could never touch Ableton again or perform, I’d still show up for my day job—but a huge part of my soul would be missing.

How do you see the role of storytelling in your music? Do you think of tracks as narratives, or is it more about feeling and energy?
For me, storytelling is everything in music. I definitely see my tracks as narratives, even if they don’t follow a traditional storyline. Each one is like an emotional journey—I want the listener to feel something shift, to be taken somewhere, even if they can’t quite put it into words. At the same time, feeling and energy are a huge part of that storytelling. In melodic techno, the atmosphere, textures, and progression all work together to tell the story without needing lyrics.

What’s one piece of gear or software you couldn’t live without in your studio?
Ableton is the heart of my studio—I couldn’t live without it. It’s where all my ideas come to life. In terms of plugins, FabFilter is essential for mixing and EQing.  Serum and Diva are my go-tos for sound design. And of course, Valhalla for reverb

How do you stay grounded in an industry that moves so fast?
Staying grounded in such a fast-moving industry can be challenging, but for me, it really comes down to taking care of my mental and emotional health. I practice meditation regularly, and I sometimes go on breathwork retreats, which help me reconnect with myself and stay balanced.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about being a DJ and producer?
I think the biggest misconception about being a DJ and producer is that we’re all party animals. For me, that couldn’t be further from the truth. I love DJing because it’s a way for people to hear my music—and, really, to hear my soul. It’s not about partying; it’s about connection, emotion, and expression. The nightlife is just the backdrop—what matters most to me is the music and the energy it creates between me and the crowd. That said, of course, I love going to raves and the rave culture in general. I’ve met some of my closest friends on the dance floor, and there’s something really beautiful about how music brings people together like that.

What are some projects and events that you’re particularly looking forward to for 2025?
2025 is shaping up to be an amazing year! I’m especially looking forward to releasing more original tracks and collaborations that I’ve been working really hard on. I also have a few shows lined up in Europe this summer, and playing overseas is always such an inspiring experience. Beyond that, I’m hoping to play some major festivals and continue building connections with people through my music. There’s a lot in the works, and I’m genuinely excited for everything that’s coming.
