NEW YORK, NY – New York based producer, engineer, vocalist, and songwriter Amunet Speaks announces the release of “Verity of Starting (Inside Cut)” on independent label imprint Fine By Six Recordings. The track and video are available worldwide across digital platforms on Friday, 14 February.
Amunet Speaks (formerly Amunet Shah) originally released “Verity of Starting” in 2024 as a heady trip through atmospheric house, landscapes of sound, and the innate texture and synthesis found in early dance music. Her sound is raw and real – veering away from overproduction, samples, and loops – and leaning heavily into her drum machine and live recorded synths.
“Verity of Starting (Inside Cut)” takes Amunet’s original creation and twists it into a devilishly dark dance track where gothic breakbeat meets new wave synths, thick layers of retro bass, and analog drums. Showcasing her vocals and lyrics more prominently, the remix hearkens back to a more 80’s-oriented sound with the philosophy that electronic dance music is capable of being so much more than just a fly by night club track.
Along with the reworked music, Amunet embodies the Gothic Valentine in an equally dramatic and atmospheric video. Pushing back at the current dystopian age where humans are subservient to screen time and suffer from “option paralysis,” the producer champions her own heartfelt experiences and invites you to enter her world. Here the aesthetic matches the dark sonic undertones of the remix, with psychedelic footage and vintage analog visuals from yesteryear.
Amunet Speaks wrote, produced, and engineered both versions of the track and video. An in demand vocalist whose voice and lyrics have previously graced collabs with Kate Simko, Slumber (Amber Cox & Oona Dahl), and more, she launched her own label imprint, Fine By Six Recordings in 2024. “Verity of Starting (Inside Cut)” is set for release on Valentine’s Day, 2025.
