HILOMATIK kicks off the new year and celebrates its first anniversary with an extraordinary release from two of techno’s most proficient artists; HI-LO and Space 92. Available January 26, ‘GENESIS EP’ follows their previous collaborations ‘Mercury’ (2002) and ‘Arpeggio’ (2003), which were supported by the likes of Adam Beyer, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, deadmau5, Eli Brown, Hardwell, Paul van Dyk, Steve Aoki and Tiësto, to name a few. Furthermore, ‘Mercury’ topped Beatport’s Techno chart for several months while reaching the top 10 on the overall chart.
The two-track ‘GENESIS EP’ kicks off with the blindingly fast ‘Orion.’ It’s a fast-paced journey through the cosmos, where an electrifying beat opens up to reveal a melodic techno masterpiece. The title track builds from here, slingshotting around the sun for a face-melting hybrid of techno, piano house, and rave that screams peak time!
“What’s great about working with Space 92, besides that we match so well musically, is that he also has such a positive energy. He’s also open-minded enough to try out every idea/suggestion that I blurt out during our studio sessions, even if they sound crazy, haha. I can be quite intense when I’m in creative mode, but Mathieu totally matches up to that, and I’m really happy with what came out of our studio sessions!” HI-LO says.
Space 92 adds, ‘As always, I was enthusiastic to work with Oliver because we always come up with beautifully powerful bangers. We worked on “ORION” and “GENESIS” for several months, and then we tested and refined them a little bit everywhere around the world. We played both of them, together and solo, in Amsterdam during ADE and each time was a massive hit with the crowd! I am so proud of both songs.’
HI-LO and Space 92 will each be supporting ‘GENESIS EP’ on the road throughout the winter months. See below for full itineraries.
