One of the most exciting young artists to emerge from Germany’s techno scene, Kaspar, makes his grand return to Monika Kruse’s esteemed Terminal M imprint for the release of his brand-new EP, Imagination. Having only been active on the circuit since 2019, the fast-rising newcomer has already become a firm favourite for the iconic label through extended players ‘Aither’ and ‘Valhalla’, as well as inclusions on the imprint’s ‘Bangers Vol. 5, 7 and 8’ compilations. Today it’s our pleasure to have him for an interview.
Hey Kaspar, thanks for joining us today! Congratulations on the release of your new ‘Imagination’ EP for Terminal M. What has the feedback been like so far?
Thanks for having me! The feedback has been really great! Even before the EP was released, I was getting great responses from the crowds when I played the tracks. But when I received the promo report I was really proud and happy because there were so many great artists like Adam Bayer, Joyhauser, Eli brown, T78 to name a few that were supporting the EP!
Can you describe the musical influences that shaped the EP?
Honestly? It’s a lot of trial & error. I’m always trying new sounds and experimenting with them a lot. In the case of ‘Imagination’, I think I had a total of 4 “final” versions. I was never 100% satisfied with the production and let the track rest for a while in order to improve it again. Often, it’s good to let the track rest for a few days and then come back to it with a fresh ear.
How does it feel to now have a solid collection of music on such an influential label?
It makes me really happy to look back at all my releases on Terminal M. It was a long journey and often not an easy one but I always wanted to be an artist on Termimal M so for me, a dream came true.
How did you first get into the music industry?
So back in the day, me and my friends really loved to go to proper raves! During that time I also became friends with some DJs who had there foot already in the scene so that’s were everything started.
Do you have any other upcoming releases that you can tell us about?
Sure! My next release will be a single on Alaula with some catchy vocals and some trancy melodies. I think this one is a really good follow up for “Nova” and “Let’s Be Free” which had a huge impact on my musical journey.
Who are your current musical influences?
When it comes to musical influences I have never limited myself to one genre. I always like to see what’s happening in the music industry and play around with influences from everywhere.
5 years from now, where do you wish to be in your career?
That’s a hard question for me because I’ve already achieved a lot of things in my young career. But I would love to travel the whole world more and play my own music for the people. But I also wish to stay healthy and to never lose my passion for music.
Anything else you wish to add for our readers?
First of all, thank you very much for your time and the interview. To all the readers, I hope to see you soon at the next rave and have an unforgettable night with you.
