LONDON – Kinzoogianna (Anna Stubbs), the UK’s trailblazing jazztronica artist and co-founder of acclaimed nu-jazz outfit Brotherly, unleashes a blistering new interpretation of her acclaimed single ‘Queendom of Sound (I Love Music)’ remixed by legendary producer Mark Force from broken beat supergroup Bugz In The Attic. The explosive drum & bass remix drops this September, adding a thrilling new chapter to the track that’s currently in its second week on Jazz FM’s playlist.
Originally written by Hale Smith and famously recorded by Ahmad Jamal and Nas, Kinzoogianna’s ‘Queendom of Sound (I Love Music)’ already demonstrated her masterful ability to blend jazz, hip-hop, and rich orchestration into what critics called “a Badu-meets-Bassey tour de force.” Now, Mark Force has taken the track into explosive new territory, delivering a drum & bass reimagining that honors both the song’s jazz heritage and its dancefloor potential.
Mark Force, one of the founding members of Bugz In The Attic and co-founder of legendary London club night Co-op, brings 30 years of production and DJ expertise to the remix. Born and raised in West London, Force has been a pivotal figure in the UK’s broken beat movement, making him the perfect collaborator for Kinzoogianna’s genre-blending vision.
The remix arrives as Kinzoogianna prepares for the release of her highly anticipated second solo album ‘The Clique of ’86’ on September 12th via Brotherly Music. A key figure in London’s broken beat scene, her music has earned championing from Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Jazz FM, and Jacob Collier.
Working alongside long-time collaborator Rob Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Jordan Rakei) on the original track, Kinzoogianna channels her full creative arsenal from drum programming to flute solos and gospel-infused string arrangements. The Mark Force remix takes these elements and propels them into the stratosphere with his signature broken beat and drum & bass sensibilities.
‘Queendom of Sound (I Love Music) (Mark Force Remix)’ showcases the power of cross-generational collaboration within London’s electronic music community, bridging Kinzoogianna’s contemporary jazztronica innovations with Mark Force’s pioneering broken beat legacy.
