Kristian Heikkila and CDTRAX usher in a new era of Konstruktion, delivering a raw and hypnotic techno EP forged through their debut collaboration on the label.
This four-track EP is the third time the pair have collaborated, following their joint music on SWAY and Counter Pulse. Both artists share a hypnotic style, layering jackin’ rhythms with the swelling suspense of modulating synth lines.
Hailing from Sweden, Kristian Heikkila has been releasing music for over two decades, and during that time has featured on prestigious record labels ranging from Pan-Pot’s Second State to A. Paul’s Naked Lunch.
CDTRAX is a UK artist who burst onto the scene in 2021, and has been making waves as a prolific talent that maintains a constant stream of music. He boasts thrilling tracks on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, On Edge Society, Urban Kickz, and CMND CTRL.
“Detox” opens the release with its churning bassline, dramatic offbeat stabs, and eerie atmospherics, while fast-paced percussion delivers a relentless energy.
“Vibe Injector” has flickering melodies shrouded by tense pads, which are underpinned by a rolling bassline and hammering kick drum.
“Toxic” has industrial tones and gritty percussion, forming a framework for rave-inspired soulful vocals.
“Sphere” closes the release with clanging bass hits and thrashing hi-hats forming a mesmerising groove with ominous atmosphere.
