2024 is already shaping up to be a rather fruitful year for Re.You. Following the widely lauded release of his ‘Magic Carpet’ single alongside Dorian Craft on January 19, the long-standing German DJ, producer and LSF21+ label head continues his prolific start to the New Year, landing on Ontourage Music with an official remix for label boss Nico Morano’s 2023 album single, ‘100 Miles’ ft. Mewhy.
Marking his inaugural outing on the burgeoning Belgian imprint, Re.You’s fresh new remix is a masterclass in indie-tinged dance music that offers up a unique aural perspective to Nico’s laidback house cut. The original – which came out in October of 2023 as part of Morano’s 11-track studio album ‘Opposite Minds’ – features the nostalgic vocal talents of singer/songwriter Mewhy and has received considerable playlist and tastemaker support ever since its release.
Out now, Re.You’s impeccable contribution serves as the opener to Morano’s ‘Opposite Minds Remix Album’, which fronts a host of top-tier talent including Santiago Garcia, Gorje Hewek, Alex Medina, Aera and Xinobi, to name a few. As with many of his productions, Re.You’s new remix deftly balances emotion with danceability, calling upon a web of sonic influences, timbres and tones. Capitalising on Mewhy’s ethereal topline, Re.You employs organic percussion, trippy vocal manipulation and delicate synth intricacies to create a truly immersive listening experience.
Looking ahead to the rest of the 2024, Re.You is primed for his most fruitful career to date, with another remix in the works for Scorpios Music, further confirmed releases for AZZUR Music and his own LSF21+ label, a huge collaboration with Paul Brenning (alongside a remix from Avangart Tabldot) as well as another full-length studio album penned for later in the year. As he steps into this next phase of his already star-studded career, he maintains an ethos that has made him one of the most consistent artists of his generation; balance, diversity, fun and great energy. It is this winning combination that will keep him spinning around the world for many years to come.
