Over the last few years, DJ, producer, label owner and party promoter Nico Morano has developed his sleek and emotive house music into one of the most refined and sophisticated sounds in Belgium. His blend of depth and melody with a strong musical touch has won favour with both DJs and dancers looking for special moments on the dance floor. As a DJ, too, he tells involving stories that have seen him play more than 100 gigs a year in Belgium alone: from highly respected clubs such as La Rocca, Café D’Anvers, Fuse and Ampere to acclaimed festivals such as Paradise City Festival or Tomorrowland where he has hosted his own Nico & Friends stage with the likes of Denis Horvat, Jan Blomqvist, Edu Imbernon on two occasions; Nick Morano has done it all and more.
Internationally his sound is also getting recognition thanks to standout EPs on labels like Selador, EIN2, Days Like Nights, Click Records or his own Atmosphere Records, with high profile DJ support coming from names like Kölsch, Joris Voorn, Solomun, Sasha, Kevin De Vries, Frankey & Sandrino and more. He has also continued to pick up high profile press support with studio features in Music Tech and DJ Mag.
In 2019 he really made big strides with releases on German imprint Katermukke alongside Tom Zeta and his Ontourage event series which provided some magical moments from Nico as well as presenting real exposure to some of the greatest landmarks around Belgium as he performed shows at St Guillemin’s station in Liege, Gaasbeek Castle, Saint Peter’s Abbey and more – all culminating a total monthly reach of 400k viewership.
2020 is a huge year for Nico as it sees him unveiling three releases in the first three months and also go live with his exclusive British Airways mix for Deeper Sounds from February.
With more focus on his releases, Nico links up with Radeckt for a joint release on Recits de Mars followed by his awe-inspiring Merci Paris EP on Spanish imprint, SINCOPAT.
In Spring Nico makes the bold steps of presenting the debut release for his Ontourage Music label with the Blackout EP featuring a remix from Moonwalk. As such, the future is bright for this vital house talent.
